With their own little hands … 500 kids make matzah
     Children at the Katz JCC's Kidz Korner afterschool enrichment program recently baked matzah for Passover with the help of Rabbi Yitzchok Kahan of Chabad of Camden and Burlington Counties. Chabad's matzah bakery visited 10 area schools and helped 500 children get ready for the holiday. A senior seder with a difference
TBS, M'kor Shalom groups join forces
      This was not just another senior seder. For one thing, it was deemed a "Seder for All Seasons." And throughout the seder hosted by Temple Beth Sholom, traditional Passover prayers and songs were interspersed with writings and songs that followed first Jewish immigration to the United States and then Jewish life in the New World.

Rabbi Eron honored by Courier-Post
      Rabbi Lewis Eron of Cherry Hill has been honored as a Champion of Diversity by the Courier-Post. Eron, the Jewish community chaplain, was honored along with Tawfiq Barqawi and Peter Burgos. Barqawi is vice president of the Greater Philadelphia Chapter of the American Arab Anti- Discrimination Committee.

New Women's League region sets conference
      The newly-formed Mid- Atlantic Region of Women's League for Conservative Judaism will hold its first annual conference on Monday, May 19 at Tiferet Bet Israel, 1920 Skippack Pike in Blue Bell, PA. The new region is made up of over 60 sisterhoods from the former Southern New Jersey, Philadelphia, Eastern Pennsylvania, and Central New Jersey regions.

Dotan honored at Sons of Israel Gala
     Cherry Hill Mayor Bernie Platt welcomed Knessett Member Amira Dotan with a special proclamation at a recent Sons of Israel gala. Dr. Kenneth L. Panitch, president of the congregation, joined them for the ceremony. Dotan keynoted the evening. Mr. & Mrs. Allan Zarembski and Mr. & Mrs. Harvey Mindel were honored as outstanding leaders during the event.

A night to remember … Samost JFCS 'Stepping Out' fundraiser
     The Samost Jewish Family and Children's Service Stepping Out Fundraiser, held on April 12 at the Katz JCC, was the most successful ever, partly due to the efforts of (from left ), JFCS President Michele Golkow, vice chair Stephanie Specter, executive Jennifer Weiss, co-chairs Amy Green and Ann Miller, and President-elect Michele Ettinger. The proceeds raised benefit the agency's services and programs.

At the Cherry Hill Jewish Film Fest
     Waiting in line to view one of the films at the recently held Cherry Hill Volvo Jewish Film Festival mounted by the Katz JCC are Eddie Brown, CFO Cherry Hill Volvo, and Ilyse Janove, Festival chair. Over 3,500 film goers enjoyed the eight day long festival of Jewish and Israeli films.

B'nai B'rith leader looking to future
      It's not "business as usual" at B'nai B'rith, according to Moishe Smith, international president of the 165-year-old Jewish service organization. Speaking to members of the Masada Unit during an Apr. 9 visit, Smith said that B'nai B'rith knows it must attract and engage a new generation if it is to continue as a vibrant organization.
