Playing the race card
      Our country has come far in less than 250 years, but I fear that we are now moving backwards. With all the problems facing us, such as global warming, millions facing foreclosure, two million citizens incarcerated, a multi-trillion dollar war, we find ourselves fixated on ill-advised words of public figures mostly regarding race.

Jews not threatened in France
      I 'd like to react to an article by Devorah Lauter (French Jews hide their Jewishness, page 17, Feb. 27 Voice) from the JTA. As a French Jew living in the US and who returns frequently to France where I have my family, I have to say this is an inaccurate image of the situation on the ground. Unfortunately Ms. Lauter implies in her article that Jews are in danger in France.
